On my epi LP standard, with my neck pickup selected, when I turn the volume pot all the way down I still get sound coming out. The pot does work in the sense that I can increase or decrease the volume, it just won't turn all the way off. Sometimes, the I flip the pickup switch and I get silence. Any thoughts? Thanks! Members onelife Posted December 21, 2011 Members Share Posted December 21, 2011 There may be some contamination in the pot itself that is physically inhibiting its travel. Another possibility is that the pot is not properly grounded (wire not connected). If this is the case, turning it down will put enough resistance in the circuit to lower the volume but it won't shunt the signal completely to ground. Your problem may also be in the selector switch. Try the pot with different switch settings and also adjust the bridge pickup volume pot to see if it has an effect in the different switch positions.
