Another great thread scuzzo:thu: - I am biased however because my style teeters on post-rockish jazzyness :)

Here are two recent ones I've done that somewhat fit:

While it may not be very common among guitarists who mostly tend to fit the Blues, Metal or shred molds, I think you and I have enough tunes to keep the thread alive!

Thanks, as always, for the kind and encouraging words and, of course, the listen. The first piece, actually has a Nine Inch Nails drum part at the end (from "The Hand that Feeds") Reznor has several audio files for free download on the NIN web site.

Another track, WAY different this time:

I set my guitar down on my chair I use when recording and there was an

electric fan running.

The hex pickup is so sensitive it picked up a strange, thrumming whine

and I heard this and started recording it.

I changed the speed of the fan and it modified the pitch of the whine.

Really strange stuff. Not really music but....

Great sounds! I really like your chord progression and arrangement. Your lead work fits the piece perfectly - very open and fluid and that flurry of legato notes is just awesome. All in all I really enjoyed this!

Also, I have that exact drum loop on logic:)

Thanks for the comments. Yes, it was from Logic! I just whipped that

track together really quickly since I'd just gotten my Roland VG-99 and

that was the first track I did with it.

this was just the kinda thing i was looking for.. REALLY GOOD STUFF!!

reminds me of Summers with the augmented broken chord things.. and the drum beat sounds Stewart Copelandish.. and the lead work is nice and fluid..

thanks for posting.. good stuff..

Sure, no problem!

Nice moody chords over eerie ticking percussion then the drums kick in

and we get some nice elegaic Terje Rypdal-style lead shards. Cool stuff.

It eventually goes back to the moody "record playing effect" with chords.

But I especially love the coda where it goes double-time with the angry

guitar stuff happening to a spellbinding coda.

Next track, moody eerie chords again with a nice breezy drum pattern,

I hear more of a radiohead vibe here but not to a bad effect - it's still

interesting chordal melodies with a nice introspective vibe. Cool.

Great stuff!

I knew ASB and I would end up in this thread! Hi T, good to see you here.

ASB is a terrific guitarist

Here's links to the absurd crap I've done in the recent past:

And the warehouse of absurd crap:

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

I'm awfully partial to that "absurd crap", we'd probably be a lot better

off if we listened to more of that "absurd crap". :)

Thanks, T, and obviously I agree.

Actually, a bit of trivia: ASB and I have been on the HC guitar forum now for 10 (ten) years  (I've gone through a few different forum handles) :p

I've actually got some of them!

I sometimes just enjoy messing about on my own.;)

Dreaming of sleep (This is a kind of prog epic., or supposed to be. I'm playing everything so please forgive the shitty drums. I'm no drummer and I've only got a little set of Yamaha pads to bang on!):
