        This type of break is not unusual with Les Pauls.

        Ok it's caused by people dropping them,but is it characteristic of mahogany

        or more of a design issue ?

            i've seen like new Epi LP Customs with no issues sell for $350.... That's what these guys are trying to tell ya.

                It's a well-known design flaw with Les Pauls. Mahogany is part of the equation too, I doubt this would happen as often as it does with a maple neck.

                  Make even more money parting it out? Are you ****************ing serious??? Ok, Epi's are great(usually), but realistically, what would anyone think they could get for say, the pickups? Maybe $25/each? Or the case(assuming it comes with a case)? Maybe $75? I'd probably offer $50 for a broken Epiphone like that...

                      Yeah, the want ads are full of people looking for Epi pickups and hardware.

                          If a favorite guitar had a wicked headstock break, there's no doubt I'd pay someone to fix it. Buying one with a wicked headstock break is a different matter...
