Actually cheaper ones that I mod because it is my own sound, although for recording it best to use a finer instrument to produce sounds people are familiar with, the exception is EVH who used his own cheap creation to become a standard!

I have three different electric guitars that are really different. One Strat, one Ibanez shred guitar with a floyd rose and hot pickups and a LP-ish guitar. They all put me in different moods to come up with ****************.

I do keep going back to the Strat most of the time. It's just such a nice, versatile guitar.
              DINOSAUR ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                  I write on everything.
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov, Newsweek (21 January 1980)

If I'm in a rut then usually a different style of guitar. There is something about playing a guitar you have to work a little harder with, but nothing as masochistic as an acoustic guitar.
