Members dmc69 Posted January 29, 2013 Members Share Posted January 29, 2013 A customer asked me to build a partscaster for him, with one of my Maverick Metallic Red bodies as a starting point. Everything else was up to me. I had a Mighty Mite neck, black pickguard, chrome hardware, and a set of chrome covered Rose pickups lying around. I really didn't know how this would turn out, as I'm more of a traditional kind of guy - white or black p'up covers, knobs, and switch tip on a strat. After looking at it over for about 30 mins, I can say it's definitely grown on me. I really like this look. I hope he likes it too. For me, it evokes images of an old school Cadillac. Metallic/sparkle/flake red, chrome trim and rims/hubcaps, black tires... Maybe it's just me. So, HC. Hot or not? Man, chrome is somewhat difficult to photograph properly.
