  • Yamaha SJ 550 HM

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me anything more about Yamaha's SJ 550 HM?

It's a "Tele" style guitar with twin humbuckers, made I believe in the mid 1980's. I've never seen another one, but I'm sure there must be plenty out there.

I've trawled the net, but information is scarce.

    Thanks,

    J :-)

    Monster Axe2.JPGYea,

I got one of these back in '84 - MIJ. I think it was Yamaha's answer to the deluxe Tele. Dual humbuckers with a coil tap and it has the bridge plate ala tele. Has the Tele shaped body but contoured. Very nice guitar that I played for years. I just replaced the neck on it with a MIM Fender Maple about 6 months ago.
