    Any Ideas

Shake things up? Here's an idea...

    I like Van Hagar better.

    Should be a flamefest.

I've said this before but only because it's true.  EVH is merely a glorified tap guitarist who unfortunately influenced and gave birth to a generation of shred guitarists who have no soul.  Machine gun guitar?  No thanks.

Here's an idea: Turn management over to a group that gives a **************** about the membership. That'd shake things up!
    We're not in Kansas anymore.

Who says shred guitarists influenced by EVH cant/dont have soul? Who gets to determine whether a player is soulful or not? Music is subjective, we are all gonna have different ideas re: what is good or bad or mindless wanking or technical brilliance.

If another flamethread re: who is good/not is how to shake things up i say stop shaking ffs.

Well, I'm sure some do.  Point being though, too many non-feel shredders were born from EVH.  Eddie, IMO, influenced a generation concerned more about speed and technique rather than feel and melody.

How's this; When you get SERIOUS about your guitar playing and really want to express yourself with nuance and soul, ditch your cheap copies, save up and buy a Gibson, Fender or PRS. Otherwise you're not serious or just kidding yourself.

EVH is a average guitar player in todays age.

He did not invent the tap method though.

EVH is an average player now because everybody else is an EVH wannabe. And nobody paid much attention to tapping until EVH did it.

I think it's funny that in trying to start something by saying that Van Hagar was better, you get a debate on whether or not EVH can play.
