I changed the tuning on my guitar, should I worry about the tension?

I tuned my guitar yesterday to A-A-E-A-C#-f#

The low E up 2.5 steps, and four other strings else up a step

aside from my action going up, I'm wondering if it's going to cause damage to my guitar?

is it bad to have left it like that over night? to leave it like that for a week until I can get the truss rod adjusted?

this is a Fender Bass VI guitar by the way, one of the new pawn shop reissues.

conceptually, it's going to matter more or less based on what gauge of string you're using.  lighter gauge would put less strain on the rod and neck.

practically speaking, it's not going to matter that much short term like you imply.  i'd worry more about the extra tension on that low E than anything else.

Why are you waiting that long to adjust your truss rod? Do it right now.

it's possible he doesn't know how or isn't comfortable doing it himself.
