  • Wraparound bridge question (Pigtail & Wilkinson)

Hello, So I want to upgrade my bridge on my PRS type hollowbody. It was made by a friend and he installed a Wilkinson Wrap Around Bridge as his choice. So my question is what intonational bridge can I put in my guitar as a direct replacement? I don't want to have to fill in the bushing holes or widen them. I was looking at the Pigtail wrap around and it seemed like a nice upgrade but not sure if it will be a direct replacement with out modification. Any insight or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'd probably go with the Schaller or the Hipshot Baby Grand. Those both have the same post spacing. The Pigtail should be as well.

Is there something wrong with the wraptail?
It's a matter of never ending debate, but give me a good solid wraptail over anything loaded with moving parts any day.
      We're not in Kansas anymore.

I would agree with that 100%.

Wraparounds with adjustable saddles means that the strings do not come in to contact as much as a solid bar does. All you have to do is to make sure the bridge is in the right place, something Gibson has done with not that much success over the years.

In this category it's almost impossible to beat the master Gotoh who market this baby as the upmarket Wilko option, with two intonatable sections
