Members mschafft
Hello there, I'm really digging the sound of my (recentyl acquired) 2003 American Fat Strat Texas Special. It's got these pickups :- 2 Texas SpecialTM Single-Coil Strat Pickups (Neck & Mid),- 1 Custom Wound Seymour Duncan
Members kayd_mon
As far as I know, there is but one Texas Special. That said, I bought a set in '98 and in '05, and they sound different. I always chalked that fact up to them being in different Strats with different woods/resonant qualities.
Members mschafft
Yeah. Is the Lone Star MIM now? It's got the same set. So have they been MIA and MIM? ('Cause mine was US made)
Members kayd_mon
The early ones were definitely MIA. I always thought that the Lonestar and Roadhouse Strats in the 90s (the MIA Texas Special and Pearly Gates Strats) were far superior to the American Standards. Members billybilly
A texas special is a texas special, regardless of what guitar fender produces. The so called Mexican equivalent is the Tex Mex. It's quite different though.
