  • My GC Contest Entry - Dust Bowl

I tried to look at it like writing an instrumental - phrasing my tone, making each of the solos a little different, and trying to keep it interesting.  I was also trying to walk the line between keeping it blues, but not just noodling on blues for 4 minutes, which would be really hard to pull off without being boring.  Not sure if I succeeded, but it was a lot of fun to work on.

I know, kind of boutiquey for blues, but it is what it is.

    Thanks for watching.  Comments, feedback?

I would like to have heard a little more aggressive phrasing early on. In the first half I wanted to hear some sprinklings of stacatto and such to give it a little more more kick. Saving all of that energy for the end gives it a nice finish, but it could have livened up the start, soo.

Thanks for the feedback - that makes sense.  I want to build it up over the course of the song, but don't want people to fall asleep in the first minute, either.
