So I want to take a Les Paul Custom, add piezo bridge, that has it's own separate volume control, without giving up a tone or volume pot, and without adding a knob. Even more, I want to retain the stock look of speed knobs.
Now, I know how it should be done, but don't know if there are actually parts out there to do it.
I'm thinking a stacked pot for tone controls, then the 4th pot would be used for the piezo pickup. Is there actually a stacked long shaft pot that I can get?
For the knob, I am thinking some custom fab work would be needed. Nothing intense, but chop a knob in half, bore out the bottom to fit the collar and then attach the top to the shaft.
And then wiring. What I would really like, is a single stereo 1/4 jack to replace the stock jack. One channel the piezo and one the magnetic pickups. Being able to blend in the guitar would be cool too. But using a "hacked," ABY would work too.
The real problem, which I can't believe, is no one makes a long shafted stacked tone pot?
