Members NeverIsAPromise
I'm thinking of buying a chapman ML-2 but I really am picky about the neck at least looking bound. I've been reading about people putting automotive pinstripe tape on the sides of the neck.Does this work well?Is it hard to do? (I am not handy at all)How long does it last for? Members Guit-mangler
Not trying to sound rude, but if it holds on to cars, it will hold onto a guitar.. Laying pinstripe straight can be a PITA, so I would suggest a practice run.. Once you put the end down where you want it to start, you basically will hold it there with one hand, unroll more than enough while keeping tension on the tape, then carefully bring the striping down at the opposite end.. That should get you a straight line...
Members kayd_mon
Since the tape isn't inlaid into the neck, the fact that it sticks out some might bother you as you play. But I don't doubt that it will stay for a long time.
Members gardo
Tape is inexpensive . Give it a try ,if it doesn't work out so what ,pull it off.
Members Grant Harding
This is a bad idea. I think you should think about buying a guitar with a bound neck.
