Fresh images of the build came in yesterday from the Netherlands. This is the progress on my Backlund Marz 6 prototype. The builder is making one for himself, but I don't know which guitar will end up being #1 or #2. Anyway, here's the body in the jig for drilling the input jack. After a few more details on the body are finished, the work will shift to the neck (which is already underway).....

The neck on this particular guitar will be three-piece, here it is being glued up...

I think that two teardrop 'pickguards' will be sent with it, one a red tortoise, and the other a stainless steel, engine-turned affair, so I will have two options with those components. Which one I end up using will depend on the paint colors I choose for it. I may have to create a few more illustrations of the guitar to see what it might look like in something like Fender's Burgundy Mist or perhaps Sage Green metallic.

It probably won't be too long now before this guitar is heading to the U.S. for painting and final assembly.

I'm not sure yet, but I think this 700 might be painted a tangerine metalflake, with a mint-green secondary making up the two-tone. The bolt-on neck and headstock will be color matched to the body.

Unless I change my mind.
