To you, what are the most beautiful guitar solos you've heard?

There's been tons of recorded guitar solos over the years that kick ass and are classics, but only a few are truly beautiful. I mean, the ones that get you choked up and tears in your eyes. I get emotional when I hear these two:

Little Wing by Hendrix:

solo @ 1:40

The Rover by Zeppelin:

solo @ 3:14

So beautiful, the way the solos go with the tunes...:o

Come on guys, it's okay to share your feelings.

There are beautiful melodies and little solos throughout. Each note has its special place in this song.

I figure everyone's going to post a pink floyd song so I might as well post my favorite. :)

EDIT: oh, and good call on Little Wing. :thu:

I love everything about that song.

Nice songs guys
:thu:

I really should check out some more Pink Floyd. I don't listen to them, but I like what I'm hearing
:thu:

In that case. Here's one I love. :)

And here's a really hauntingly beautiful one. Played by Jeff Beck on Roger Waters' solo album Amused to Death.

Youtube audio doesn't do either of them any justice, but you get the idea.

I absolutely love Jimi's solos in his version of "All Along the Watchtower." Also "Little Wing" (as mentioned in the OP) and "Castles Made of Sand" are just gorgeous.

'm also really fond of two that most people wouldn't consider "solos" as much as bursts of ugly noise, but to me they are beautiful in their abandon and immediacy and energy...those would be Poison Ivy's solo in The Cramps' "TV Set" (which sounds like a broken soul vacuum) and Lou Reed's feedback-shriek solo in "I Heard Her Call My Name."

Robert Fripp has been responsible for loads of beautiful solos in his day, but some of my fave work of his is on this cut by Bowie, which pretty much has little solos and single-note runs and dives all through it. Amazing, majestic playing:
