Members blingdogg
To you, what are the most beautiful guitar solos you've heard? There's been tons of recorded guitar solos over the years that kick ass and are classics, but only a few are truly beautiful. I mean, the ones that get you choked up and tears in your eyes. I get emotional when I hear these two: Little Wing by Hendrix: solo @ 1:40 The Rover by Zeppelin: solo @ 3:14 So beautiful, the way the solos go with the tunes... Come on guys, it's okay to share your feelings.

Members Furtive
I can't find a good video of "After the Ordeal" by Genesis. imo, that's the one where Steve Hackett really nailed it. Nothing flashy, but it soars.

Members redundantshrimp
There are beautiful melodies and little solos throughout. Each note has its special place in this song. I figure everyone's going to post a pink floyd song so I might as well post my favorite. solo starts at 3:30 EDIT: oh, and good call on Little Wing. I love everything about that song.

But there are so many others, I'm just having a massive brain fade today I can't think of them.

Played by Jeff Beck on Roger Waters' solo album Amused to Death. Youtube audio doesn't do either of them any justice, but you get the idea. Members rocknhard
I've never seen a Videographer {censored} up such a great piece of history in my life, probably one of the most prolific solos in rock history - and this dickwad has his camera on the Disco ball instead of his fingers... Pisses me off LOL:mad:

Members Muddslide
I absolutely love Jimi's solos in his version of "All Along the Watchtower." Also "Little Wing" (as mentioned in the OP) and "Castles Made of Sand" are just gorgeous. 'm also really fond of two that most people wouldn't consider "solos" as much as bursts of ugly noise, but to me they are beautiful in their abandon and immediacy and energy...those would be Poison Ivy's solo in The Cramps' "TV Set" (which sounds like a broken soul vacuum) and Lou Reed's feedback-shriek solo in "I Heard Her Call My Name." Robert Fripp has been responsible for loads of beautiful solos in his day, but some of my fave work of his is on this cut by Bowie, which pretty much has little solos and single-note runs and dives all through it. Amazing, majestic playing:
