Members burton4snow
Going to put these in a Xavier guitar. Can't handle the hum because I mainly play through a POD. Anybody used any of these or have opinions on any of these? Sound wise I am looking for anything but a Heavy Metal sound.
Members burton4snow
Or should I stick some Gfs Fat Mini's in there? They are 10% off and Earl Slick did a pretty good demo of them.
Members Special J
Though they'll probably be an upgrade in a Xavier, I wasn't crazy about the sound of their VP90's (I think that was the model. I like the Gibson P100 a little better, but I think they all kind of steal away the character of a P90. I had the DiMarzios in a Hamer Special replacing the stock Duncan P90's. it didnt take long for the Duncan's to go back in. I really like mini humbuckers. I can't speak on the GFS, but I really like Duncan's minis.
Members burton4snow
I really don't care about the P90 sound anymore because I know from reading enough reviews that it can not really be achieved without the 60 cycle hum and I just can't handle that hum. Some people can, but it drives me nuts. I am just looking for a pickup I can put in these p90 slots that doesn't hum and is good for blues, blues rock, and Classic rock. I was really hoping someone had tried these GFS Mini Humbuckers.
