The Starcaster guitar is back. Virtually fabled since its original mid-to-late

I don't know how much demand there is for these. I kinda like the Starcaster look, although I'm not sure about the phallic headstock.

The Coronado looks like the type of semi that a hipster would freak over, and I don't really mean that in a bad way. They might be really cool.

        Re. "Why?"

        Because they can.

        That's why.

Yes, I noticed that about the pickups, too.

The spec on the Coronado looks like it'll work better than the originals. The old ones were hollow bodies and sounded like crap.

The MSRP is $899 and I believe they are in the Modern Player series. What would the street be, I wonder?

I think the guitarist in The Killers plays a Starcaster. From the live DVDs I've seen, he gets a great chime from his. I'll look into those.

I will probably get a starcaster. I think they are MIC, so I'd feel good paying $500 for it.

I would love the look of the Coronado if it had normal chrome pickup covers. I hate those Filtertron-look covers ...

Also, these have bolt-on necks, for those that might care about that.

Aha, so that's what it was!

Friday night I went to see Steely Dan here in Houston (great show!) and on one song (don't remember which ... lotsa beer and 'other stuff') Walter Becker hauled out a funky looking semi-hollow with that curvy side stripe headstock.  I was a ways back, so I couldn't really figure what it was, but that pic now tells me it's a Starcaster.  I didn't notice if it was a new one (4 knobs) or an oldie (5 knobs).

Semi's are hollow on both sides. Thinlines only on the top half.

I knew a guy that had the Corondo with that Antigua finish. It looked horrible & sounded worse.

I do believe that the Champ is part of the RI series.

No clue that the definition of "hollow body" and "semi" would be so particular.  Goodness, gracious.

                Working...
