Members Bucksstudent
Kudos to 6down1togo for this idea. What guitars do you want before you die? Surely, there's some that you've always dreamed of. If I ever become rich, I'm not sure the same excitement of buying guitars will be there. I've always tried to keep my collection under 10, which always makes me beg the question: Do I need this for anything new? Already, I'm thinking about Les Pauls, but the way my thought process goes, it's about good replicas instead of the real thing. Then my mind goes to 360 Rickenbackers, which I've never enjoyed playing, but my hero, Peter Buck, plays one. I've never owned an American Fender, but I'm very happy with my Mexicans and Telecaster copy. The point of this is to have what you want, yet I don't know what I want. In no order: Joe Satriani Ibanez Eric Clapton Beano American Sunburst 50's Reissue Strat (I have the Mexican Classic Player, but I still want one like Richard Thompson) Surf Green Strat Yellow/Blonde Telecaster with Rosewood fretboard (Like Keith Whitley had: RIP) Black 3 Pickup Les Paul (Like Robert Fripp, but also with Steve Hackett in mind) Aged Natural Strat (Like Masami Tsuchiya's on the cover of Rice Music) Black Gibson SG White Gibson SG Languedoc Trey Anastasio Jerry Garcia Tiger (Despite my favorite Dead period being before he played one; it still looks awesome!) Let's see your list!
Members kayd_mon
I would like a Parker Fly one day. I've never really played a Ric, but I loved the look of their solidbody models, and I might want one of those, too. But honestly, I could be happy with what I have now. Members BeanoBoy
If I hit Lotto, I'd love a 50s Les Paul or 335. Although I've played a few Gretschs and didn't care for them, I've always been drawn to the White Falcon ala Stephen Stills. Dusenbergs look like fine guitars as well. Let's see your list! Yeah, a Tiger replica made by Moriarty would definitely be on my list. Hopefully it would come in weighing a bit less than the original, though; that one weighed nearly 14 pounds. Maybe add an Eagle replica to that list as well to get what Jerry was likely to play on the next tour to save his aging back. Either way that would trigger a switch to a Jerryfied SMS preamp, McIntosh amp and cab loaded with JBL 120K speakers. Add a thinline tele from the current select line, a 335, a Gretsch country gentleman, and maybe a Travis Bean.

Members bluesmann
Bucket list guitars? hm........... A decent PRS, a fat strat and a good flying V. my list wasn't so much the guitar as it was getting the tones and playing with some decent people that can play well , without the peyton place drama. Members Knutsaq
I only have one: I want to acquire a 1966 Stratocaster. It's the year of my birth, and I've always just wanted one. To hold me over until I have the scratch I bought a Custom Shop '66 when they had them.

Members 6down1togo
My bucket list has been filled. No vintage guitars, just modern versions of the classics with the exception of the USA Guilds which are from 1995.Gretsch Country Gent (Country Classic 6122)Gretsch Tennessean (Tennessee Rose 61119HT)Gretsch DuoJet (Power Jet)Gibson ES-335TDCGibson Les Paul CustomGuild Bluesbird Cherry SunburstGuild Starfire IV Vintage SunburstEpiphone Casino Cherry RedRickenbacker 360 FireGloFender Telecaster (Nashville Tele w. maple neck)Fender Vintage style Strat ('57 Reissue 50th Mary Kay white)Fender Modern Strat (Deluxe Strat 50th Anniv sunburst/mint guard)Fender Jazzmaster (MIJ sunburst/tortoise guard)Fender Jaguar (Classic Player CAR/pearl pickguard) I had a butt load of Epiphone, MIM Fender, Ibanez and similar guitars acquired over the years and sold them all except for the Tele Nashville and Casino and filled the bucket list over a three year period. I play them all and just enjoy the hell out them, though the Country Classic and Rickenbacker get the least play as they were personal "Holy Grail" guitars. I bought all the guitars used, but in mint condition with the exception of the Gretsch CC which was a MF closeout at half retail. I don't have the fortune wrapped up in them that you might think

Members ryanfla
This is THE BEST topic EVER!!! I cant believe i gave u the first kudo... like wtf The old guitars i wouldnt want to actually be playing them, but to hang on the wall. But i love explorers, i would have one in every color i would want a firebird with tobacco burst, and a 2 flying v's a whit one and a korina. A double cutaway les paul, transparent red. A white les paul with gold hardware, another white les paul with black hardware. A couple american telecasters, i like the one with the preamp in the the volume knob. I like strats (i believe they make them with fixed bridges) i dont use tremelo tho. I know the tremelo gives a strat its sound but i like fixed bridges. Also i like martin acoustics, i would play an old martin. So i have one the lotto is the scenario right? So, i would alao buy other shiitt too... id have a bunch of fender amps, orange, pedals sooo many pedals, i would buy a piece of property build a house on it, for my band to practice and record in, and live in while doing so. Also they would be put on a payroll so they wouldn't have to work
Members Pat Bourke
When I was youngerr I always loved the Les Paul Goldtop. I've played many 'vintage' guitars and IMO the experience is no where near the anticipation. I'm happy with the ones I've gotAntoria SG (my first guitar, dad got me it in 1971 and I can't bring myself to part with it...still has a sound of its own...that is one sound)Yamaha SG 750 from 1982, cost more than the car my first love bought with her share of the savings still a good guitar.EPI acoutic 1984 good guitarCrafter acoustic 2011 what can i say a brilliant sounding v playable

Members Knutsaq
What I have always wanted:1 truly great Stratocaster, year/model/color not important as long as it felt and sounded perfect1 truly great Les Paul, year/model/color not important as long as it felt and sounded perfect Luckily, I found the Stratocaster, so half of my search is done. Members noisebloom
Okay, it's been a while since this got started, but I'll play this time. A black Les Paul Custom. Never had a Custom before. I figure I ought to have at least one.The only PRS I really want is a CE 24, probably a mahogany model from the late 90s.A pretty good bass guitar. I haven't owned a bass yet. There are a few things I want to play on a bass.An 8-string electric. Gravitating toward an Ibanez RG8 or one of the ESP LTD Stephen Carpenter models.I'm still gassing for a Les Paul Trad Pro, although I'm not sure I consider it a bucket list guitar.A black Gibson ES-355, no year preference.A reasonably good jazz box. I was gassing hard for a Godin Fifth Avenue Kingpin (the original, not the II).I'd still love to have an original Steinberger GL2T.And most of all . . . my dream Strat is one from the year I was born, 1965. I might not ever be well off enough to have one, though. If I had all the other guitars listed here, I'd sell them all just to have this one. Members primal1
Definitely want a Godin Montreal Premiere, maybe a Gibson 335 or Framus Mayfield Custom. I definitely want an acoustic-electric Dobro. Possibly a thinline Cabronita tele or a full hollowbody of some kind. I'd say a good Les Paul, too, but I just got one. Members Buttcrust
I will have, maybe next year. A Campellone Cameo A couple Campellone guitars would (in my opinion) be quite nice to have around the house to strum a few tunes on once in a while. Still, needs a Bigsby. Maybe he would "custom make" one with a whammy on it. hmmm
