Thinking of designing a tube tester!

Hi guys, used to lurk here ages ago,

I am thinking of doing a valve tester as a final year project for my degree in electronics. I am wondering if I can get some feedback on this, is it a good idea? Do you have any experience with other tube testers on the market?

The (shell of a) idea is to use a raspberry pi (small linux computer) to put a valve through its paces and to gauge the life it has left in it (at least to some degree.)

It is six months before I have to start on it, just doing some background research on it atm, so see if it is feasible and worthwhile!

Thoughts anyone?

Cheers and Beers! Mick

I think you
