          • There is a mismatch, at this point, between the lower binding where it has been thinned to match the neck.

The bottom of the binding on the body top is still thicker, resulting in this visable "step".

These two planes must be matched in order for there to be good visual continuity between the two areas.

I'm using a nut slot cutting file which has a tooth out to the very edge which allows it to make square cuts.

The fall away of the carve in the top allows it to rock away from the binding top & cut against the lower portion which is what needs to be thinned.

And, once again, using the triangle shaped riffler file to do the final dress in the very corner.

don;t always remember this so...best to all!

              • NO wonder why it's taking you so long. You've got to ditch all those archaic hand tools and get you one of these:

That binding would have been done in 3/10 of a second.

Why didn't I think of that?

I know, I'll use this instead & have it done yesterday.

                        • Looks great!

I have been on the interwebz a lot less and trying to engage my family more and have been practicing with the band several times a week and just staying busy being a father and husband. I realized that I was spending quite a bit of time on the forums and the first switch to 2.0 gave me a chance to separate from HC a little bit.

I am having a wonderful Christmas...the family and I drew names and are making gifts for eachother and it has been more fun than any other Christmas I have had.

How are your hollidays shaping up? I hope all is very well.

Much respect from me to you for your family values approach to life!

My kids are all grown now & they all live in other cities & states, so I've more time now for indulgences like guitar forums.

Christmas is shaping up nicely...2 of 3 will be home over the holidays.

That's still my best day...having the kids around!

I was wondering how you could rack up 10k posts in 3 1/2 years...now I know.

Glad to hear you've got your priorities sorted and you're having a good time...but we do miss your build threads!
