I was unsure how it all was going to work, especially before I rough cut the headstock shape from the rectangular overlay blank a couple of days ago.

Lacquer tends to cure harder & more brittle than do the polys & urethanes.

After finding no chip outs, following the saw work, I felt it was probably going to be ok.

But, to be on the safe side, I still bought a fresh cutter bit for the dremel, before doing the final trim.

That's my sole reason for doing so many practice runs on new techniques...if there's going to be a problem, I want to know about it while I'm working on the scrap pieces.

          • Here's what's happinin.

            All of this stuff...

            ...was here.

Bringing it all together, so that when it's time to spray, there'll be a place to spray.

There are 6 guitars, in cases, that I don't have storage room in the overhead shelves in the shop, which were in the booth & the corner, along with the rest of it.

I'm going to build a celing to floor rack for those on the wall facing the booth door.

Some of it's going up in the attic where it was prior to building the ductwork/fan plenum up there.

This is going to give me free & constant access to the booth without always having to be shuffling stuff around.

This is important for my domestic tranquility, in that, one of the deals with the wife, in all my madness, is that I don't clutter up her living room with guitar cases.

Happy labor day weekend to everyone.

                  Yep, things are good here.

I was reading your post in the gassers & gearheads thread...sounds like you've been real busy recently.

That's a fulldrive 2...the switch on the right is for a boost circuit, which is a great addition to the crunch circuit in that pedal.

                    I think it's a great pedal.

My son isn't gigging since he moved out of state, so he loaned me his pedal collection to check out.

The red box to the right of the fulldrive is a MI audio "crunch box" distortion, that's as clean & transpearant as any heavy distortion pedal I've ever heard.

Kinda pricey but worth the money, I think.

However, the weber mini mass that I got from you is still my favorite, I think. Most of what I'm doing is cleans just on the edge of tube breakup, & it's perfect for that, while keeping my room volumn down.

Then on the occasion when I want a bit more dirt, since the weber is between the amp & speaker, I can put a couple of pedals in front of the amp to provide that.

                        • Throw that headless monstrosity away already. That was a fun idea, but it's just taking up your valuable space at this point. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if you did.

I seem to remember that there's an unopened Clyde McCoy album in there. I wonder if it has any value.

I saw that body - could make a good travel guitar though, couldn't it?

That was the idea. It's just made out of pine lumber as a mock-up though. Meandi had a busted up neck and I (the impatient) made a quick pine body to see what could be made from it. He routed the neck pocket for me, but it was doomed from the beginning due to my sloppy, slap-together body.
