I expect practice makes perfect, doesn't it? That routing malarky seems really difficult - I still think the easiest way would be to "pour" liquid synthetic MOP and let it dry there, but that doesn't seem to be an option.

Practice, at least, makes better...wait & see about perfect.

    Hope you're keeping well Meandi?

I'm going back to the relationship advice column in Gas'ers & Gearheads.....

Keeping very well LPL, thanks...how bout yerself?

    • This is probably the best thread ever Mendi you are doing some amazing work. The finished product is going to end up being the guitar that gibson should have made the first time around.

                • meandi, if you aren't charging Great Dane $1 million dollars for this, I don't think it's worth your time.

Seriously though, I really have to admire you for sinking all this time and effort (and money) into the job, no matter what you charged him.

The finished product will no doubt be well worth the wait.

                  Some original songs...

i knew meandi was an excellent talent when it came to this kind of challenge, but i had no idea just how much of a perfectionist he is, and deeply appreciate all he is doing. i think we're both fortunate to have each other on this kind of project; i benefit from the relentless perfection that meandi puts into what he does, and meandi benefits from a client who is also a friend who completely appreciates the journey as much as he does and allows him all the time he needs in order to explore new elements of his craft (inlay work, etc.)

meandi, i owe you a PM- it's been too long since we chatted and my apologies for being out of touch.

Great Dane has proven to be very generous in respect to compensation.

But, actually, this isn't Great Danes guitar at this stage of the game.

I'm building it as if I were building it for me, along his guidelines & with his approval at all stages.

And, by being smart enough to realize, that by allowing me my artistic freedom in this project, he's going to recieve the very best that I am capable of.

Then, when it's done, I'm a gonna give it to him, & then it'll be his guitar.

Ya, you're the ideal kinda guy I like to work for.

In my 30 yr car career, I had two owners who understood what's involved in

                            "best results" type work.

The rest of the owners just threw calendars at me...

Of the two smart owners, one of them was a spitfire in british racing green, that it's first show, a midwest concours event, trophied over jags, porsch, vets & ferraris as best in class & 2nd best in show.

                            Ya, I miss our chats.

                            Everybodys busy.

                              [ youtube ] The part of the youtube's URL after the = sign [ / youtube ]

                              That without the spaces.

So, say your full address for the video is www.youtube.com/asuin?45982JxLmP=U4_90lr2 (I just made up the link, so if it is an actual video, it'd be a miracle).

                              You'd use only the "U4_90lr2" part between the [ youtube ] [ / youtube ] tags.

Thought I'd share this with everyone.

Todd Muir has always been one of the guitarists whos work I appreciate the most.

Check him out at about 40 on through the outro solo.

He's totaly lost in the zone & the big grin on his face as he breaks out of the solo & on to the end of the song.

Really seems to be a guy who loves what he does for a living...
