Working on recording some simple songs out of a book, but playing them very well, locked in with the rhythm section and with a good technical performance as well. Also taking those songs and using them as a springboard to making my own songs in those styles. My improvisations always tends to sound the same and I'm trying to break out of that and create different moods in various styles.

Still cramming tunes for a blues gig this weekend and reviewing for a classic/contemporary rock cover gig on Friday. Still working on the Joe Pass a little here and there but I'm also digging these:

I've been somewhat obsessed with working on playing through the changes to the Allman/T-Bone Walker version
                        of Stormy Monday.

I asked our singer to come up with a couple of acoustic songs we could throw in with me on my new Tak! He came up with More Than Words by Extreme.
I didn't even remember the song until I youtubed it. It's kind of a loose, wandering, patternless tune (at least to me it seems that way) but fun to play.
                          Yes, I know, I know!

Old 12 string stoner (dirt simple modal) tunes of mine that I'm planning on re-recording. Trying to get a guitar orchestra thing going, with multiple guitars all playing the same thing in parts, and complementing each other in other parts.

My feel was completely different when I was a young stoner, so it's tricky...
