Members polishpaul
Jazz pianist Dave Frank gives a masterclass on the Grateful Dead's Dark Star in a one-and-a-half hour YouTube video. Well worth a look for plenty of tips on what group improv's all about. Modes too!: Go to his website for the notes to the class: http://www.davefrankjazz.com/ustream/dead/dead.html Plenty of other masterclasses, including Frank Zappa, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans and Charlie Parker. They should all be of musical interest to many here. Nice chap, Dave. Stay busy!
Members polishpaul
I've just finished watching the Dead masterclass, and must say I feel a lot better for it. Dave gives an exceptionally good insight into how a band works together to deliver the goods. Highly-recommended viewing!
