Thought some of you might be interested in this transcription of Joe Pass playing on Oleo. It's from the album "Chops" with Neils Henning Orsted Petersen (sp?).

Don't know how to do the attachment thingy...

Here's the solo transcription: http://coggins.homemail.com.au/joepass.pdf

And a lead sheet for the tune:

That's about all we did in ET/Harm classes at Berklee; doing ear transcriptions to standard notation of Carlton and Pass and Davis and others. You went one further and made TABs? Cool. I think they'll be a number of folks who will appreciate that. :thu:

Standard notation only, I'm afraid.

There's likely some stnd ntn to tab conversion programs, or notation to midi to tab programs out there. Personally, I wouldn't bother converting it to tab. Those with the right stuff will locate the resources they'd need to figure out how to read it as notes or convert it to tab themselves. Either way they'll gain a lot of useful knowledge and understanding by doing so.

Hi Coggins, thanks for making this transcription available.

I tried to download the pdf but the site gives an error. Is there anywhere else (a working link) that I can download it from?

Many thanks

Gary

Of course it gives an error.

"homemail.com.au" refers to some residential broadboand provider's webspace for its subscribers.

That sort of URL will  not last. You cannot take it with you if you cancel your subscription and go to another broadband provider, or move to another region where that provider is not available.

The posting was 2006; seven years ago. Coggins might not even have an account on the new HC site.
