Members mbengs1
I think all you need is a distortion pedal to play rock music. This is very worrying to me. u don't really need any effects just a good distortion box. just get the sounds out of your fingers. is this true to you? Members DeepEnd
I think if you can get the sound you want using just a distortion pedal or no pedals at all that's cool.

This is very worrying to me. u don't really need any effects just a good distortion box. just get the sounds out of your fingers. is this true to you? No. The operative function is music, (which at one time was entirely acoustic) not FX. Distortion and other FX came along when rockers noticed they added life to their nothing tunes besides, needless to say, making them easier to play. Flame that if you like, it's true. FX have been around since the beginning; some generic or endemic to the instrument. The rest can be kept in a sack labeled EXPRESSION. How good is your material? Is there weed involved? (the biggest difference in rock) Is there anything besides distortion? Can you sell it? Not many heroes can.
Members KarenNSmythe
Not sure about the record but i can complete the gig with only guitar and one amp (it's great if there are some build-in effects in the amp). I love the way I control the volume and gain in guitar voulme knob. It always give me the tone i want.
Members mbengs1
My material is ok. I'm not gonna say i'm the best. I think i'm ok at best but there's lots you can do to make yourself a better player and that's great.
Phil O'Keefe
Can I? Sure - as Daddymack said, at the minimum, I just need a good guitar and (preferably two channel) tube amp. Would I want to? H*** no! YMMV
Members mbengs1
I thought before that all you need is a multi effects with all the effects you'll ever need. it was the easy solution until i got into the individual stompboxes. with amp modeling, you can do away with playing through your pc. goodbye amp.
