Members Double D Dad
Greetings all. First time posting here. We have moved into the wirless arena and are using the Sennheiser D1 system...which we love. Our guitaris however is getting a very loud and annoying hum when he plugs into his pedal board. He has a Vox wah pedal as the first inout and thats the source of the problem. I've inquired around and I get a lot of "oh yeah, wah pedals do that" but no one seems to have a definitave answer. Before we go looking for a new wah pedal, is there anything you guys might know of that I might be missing? The obvious often eludes me! Thanks in advance. Members Mr.Grumpy
A couple of suggestions: 1) Try moving the wireless receiver and/or any power supply units away from the wah pedal. The inductor coil in wah pedals can pick up magnetic fields close by, 2) Make sure the wireless receiver, guitar amp and pedalboard power are all coming from the same outlet. 3) If all else fails your guitarist can buy a fancy, boutique Fulltone wah pedal that has a shielded inductor. (or one can buy the Fulltone shielded inductor and solder it into the Vox wah).
