Members 1001gear
Very low on treble / presence. Better suited to post OU812 Cherone era stuff. [video=youtube;lAERKvlhYXs]

Phil O'Keefe
I just saw that the other day in the new Musician's Friend catalog. I have not tried it yet myself either.
Members mbengs1
I checked the video and i thought it sounds as good as i expected it to be. to my ears, it sounds like evh's tone in 1984. and 0u812 maybe. if i was looking for a new distortion pedal i might consider it. but i think the bogner red ecstacy pedal is better. Members 1001gear
FWIW in the Anderton's video, it only starts to sparkle when they kick in the Carbon Copy / bright pedal.
Members mbengs1
i thought it sounded better without the carbon copy bright. i think it will sell a lot. an overdrive pedal from evh? that's the first time to even hear about it. i thought evh will use amp distortion forever hehe. Members 1001gear
To me, without the Carbon Copy or some kind of treble / presence enhancer, the tone won't cut - even on later VH albums with the scooped sound. The solo tone might work by itself but in the typical VH setting with Alex constantly riding the crashes, only the old shiny metalness would survive. Just a theory but someone elsewhere who was around when EVH worked with Peavey posted about his ( Eddie's) increasing hearing impairment and requests for more treble. He may now be on audio assist and / or seen / heard the light and soft pedaled (ha ha) his thirst for "that sound" in this new pedal.

Mad Professor made one (no pun intended - that's what it's called - "1") a while back that was designed to cop the sound of early-period EVH. http://www.mpamp.com/factory-pedals/1-factory-pedal/ If you'd like to check out my review of the Mad Professor 1, you can find it at the link below. http://www.harmonycentral.com/expert-reviews/mad-professor-
Phil O'Keefe
....but in the typical VH setting with Alex constantly riding the crashes... Most of the time when drummers do that, I absolutely hate it. It leaves very little space in the upper midrange and high frequency ranges for much of anything else in the mix.
