Besides, ribbons are pretty simple devices and easy to repair. About the only thing that ever goes wrong with them is a loose wire or blown ribbon... and it's not like the ribbon material used is exclusive to the EH-R1. You should be fine - unless you were planning on buying a second one, in which case you might want to move fast.
