Members PillarRocks
Hi all, A friend recently lent me his homemade amp simulator, and it sounds great. The problem is, it outputs a high-pitched whine whenever I use it. Does anyone have any troubleshooting suggestions? If more information would help, let me know. I do have my friend's permission to make any modifications necessary. And for future reference, is this the correct section for this sort of question? I am new to the forums and couldn't tell whether to post here, in DIY, or in Amps.

Members Buttcrust
Does it happen to make the same "whine" noise when no guitar is plugged into it, at the same volume as when a guitar is plugged in ?
Members onelife
you may also be experiencing some form of ground loop could you describe the way you have things plugged in - it could help determine the source of the whine
