Members bernardo gui
Just bought a Ibanez FL-99 Classic Flanger off Craigslist-Washington DC.....I'M BLOWN AWAY !3 years ago I bought a Hartman Flanger. Nice with a HUGE volume bump.I sent it back to Hartman & they "repaired " it.....STILL with a huge volume bump.I dumped the Hartman Flanger & bought a ADA....STILL with a huge volume bump.Plus the ADA Flanger was too busy & "difficult" to use. Also the Flanger sounded "weak".25 years ago I played an original ADA Flanger & it killed. The one I had was a reissue. I started researching Flangers. I kept hearing about The Ibanez FL-99 Classic Flanger.Often refered to as "The ADA Killer"....& it is.....super pronounced Flanging.Minimal volume bump & just "musical" as hell. Cost me $100USD.I think my musical quest for a good Flanger has ended. I use this pedal alot. The only downside....it's a big pedal.....it takes up ALOT of space on my pedalboard. The Ibanez FL-99 Classic Flanger. If you see one, jump on it & prepare to be blown away..... Phil O'Keefe
Cool - thanks for the tip! I don't see a lot of people using flangers on their boards these days, but it really is a classic effect. I'm a big fan of true tape based and studio "through zero" flanging, but it's a bit hard to put everything you need for that on to a pedalboard... I'll definitely check out the Ibanez if I get the opportunity.
