Phil O'Keefe
That's kind of a tall order really... by lowering the input level to the OD or fuzz, the S/N ratio is almost guaranteed to worsen, at least to some degree. Are you using humbuckers or single coils?

Members WRGKMC
I built myself a Moserite Fuzzrite pedal which is much quieter then I'd though it would be. Maybe If I gained everything up it would be noisier but with the volume on the pedal set to 1:1 its as good as any other drive pedal. You can always use a gate at the end of the chain but turning down would likely cause the gate to fail to open. I was using a gate and finally dumped it and went to a dual loop pedal It made a big difference getting back my gain levels when I completely bypass my rather long studio chain of pedals. Members riff ie
London fuzz was a lil less s/n ratio comparatively, iirc, as compared to stock fuzzface, 70's fuzz, fuzz factory, ect...
