Shielding?

 

My exact thoughts when I opened the image up and looked at it were "those look nice, but the only trouble is, you have $%^& for shielding" - although to be fair, we don't know if they're lining the wood inside with something like copper foil for that purpose...

They do look cool and so long as they are shielded they should work.

 

My main concern would be durability. A little extra weight can push a foot switch through the wood, the boxes can wear any paint off quickly or even crack the boxes. Using a poly clear coat for durability should be something to think about. You'll likely have to check the nuts that hold the Jacks and switches because the wood will compress and they will be constantly loosening up. They use jack plates on guitars for just that reason. Using some hot glue on the inside might help. I'd definitely get some of those ground connect washers with the solder lugs and run a backup ground wire to all the jacks and switches not just use the conductive paint.
