Any Pedal Modding Wizards Out There?

I usually post in the bass forum and a lot of people said there are some really smart effects people over here and they might answer my question better.

Here's my original thread.

I have a Akai Unibass. Here are the reviews from Harmony Central.

In short, it takes your bass signal and adds an octave up when engaged. You can send this signal to your bass amp mixed with your dry signal or there is another output where you can send the effect only signal to a guitar amp. On top of there there is another foot switch that does one of three things based on what position you move a slider switch above the button. 1. Add the 5th above the octave signal (power chord). 2. Add the lower 4th below the octave signal. 3. Solo mode that cuts out the dry bass signal. So you can modify the effect by pressing the second switch.

So it has two foot buttons and two slider switches. One slider swich changes the mode of the modify side, described above, and the other slider switch changes the foot buttons to latching or non-latching (hold down the button for the effect).

Here's the mod question I have. How can I change the slide switches to a larger foot button control so I can change the settings of the slide switches on the fly with out hitting knobs or whatever and have a led showing me what position I'm in?

Thanks alot.
