Members NoirAbattoir
The Aramat Scream Machine is a nice TS clone. Also, there is that thudnertomate guy doing the yellow taxi pedal thingy...

Members ChitownTerror
Boss OD3. I don't think it sounds particularly tubescreamer-ish, but someone could probably prove me wrong.

Members harmonix
bad monkey red snapper fulltone fulldrive vox valvetone nobels overdrive and of course ts-7 IMHO the boss overdrives don't sound tubescreamerish- they sound boss overdrivish. the mxr dist+ has nothing to do with a ts. neither has the rat. it's a distortion, not an overdrive. hope i could help.. Members harmonix
no, sorry! i think i got you wrong! you wanted something different? well, what exactly then? a ts is an overdrive which is pretty neutral and works also well as a clean boost. you won't find too many good sounding od's that aren't based on a tubescreamer. exept boss' od-3 maybe. you want a distortion? or a fuzz? Members Livid1973
Try and get your hands on the MI Audio Blue Boy. Fantastic pedal that can go from typical Tube Screamer territory all the way to mild fuzz. Very useful pedal thanks to the 3 internal trimpots. The pedal is discontinued now, but I see one up for sale every now and then.

Members NoirAbattoir
I think clean boosts make the best overdrives. The Zinky Master Blaster is a great one.

Members andreas
I would have to say FETTO - if you have an amp with a decent amount of mids, it works like a treat and sounds nothing like a tube screamer. Also, the Blues Driver works very well, and with the OD-3 you're getting into "that" zone (slight midrange push), but not too far.The Fulltone OCD and Xotic BB Preamp have both been mentioned, which are both nice options. If you want to build one yourself, stay away from schematics that have a 4558 op-amp with clipping diodes in the feedback loop, and you should be fine. Take a look at the BSIABII (Brown Sound In A Box II) at www.generalguitargadgets.com - it is reported to sound pretty good, and it is very far removed from the TS circuit... /Andreas
