  • Opinions: Les Paul guitar for 500-600?

Looking for something new. I know I want a Les paul style guitar, but don't know what brand/model. Currently, I have an Epiphone Casino that is nice, but doesn't suit my style of music so it needs to go. Any opinions? Can't spend more than 600.

I'd suggest you cough up a few more bucks for a Gibby LP Studio.

dang sorry, its way out of your price range. There was one cheapish gibby that i really liked, it was like 700 bucks all black...

You can get a melody maker for your price range, it looks like a lp but its not the same as an lp.

I thought about a melody maker, but they don't have humbuckers, right? The new ones have single coils

Yeah they have single coils. Just remembered the model, it was a LP special. I really liked it and it was really cheap. But they mother****************ers seemed to have discontinued it.

I think its better to save up, the casino is a great guitar, so just use that while saving up for a real gibby. You'll probably buy a copy like an epiphone, play it for like 6 months and then decide that you want a real gibson because the epiphone lp isnt doing it for you...

I was seriously thinking about the white LP. The reviews look pretty good. Anyone actually use one? How are the pickups? How would it compare to a high end epiphone?

This should be near your budget if you look hard enough.

I like Fernandes Montereys. I own a deluxe. Or whatever the nice one but without sustainer is.

Jamie Miller of theSTART plays one!

I didn't think of that. I have a Fernandes Dragonfly that I love. Where can I buy them online? Musicians Friend doesn't have the best Fernandes selection

Yep. Got mine for $750.00 including a nice hard Gibson case. Not too far out of your price range. You might find one used for less.

Shoot for the AL3000 models. Agiles are probably one of the top bang-for-buck guitars out there.
