Timmy vs. RC booster

If I don't sell my RC Booster soon, I'll let you know next week, when I'll have both. I suspect the Tim/Timmy has more overdrive compared to the RC Booster. Especially with single coils, the amount of drive is not that much. More obvious with humbuckers. I like it with a slightly dirty amp, just adds a bit more edge to it, but I often have my amp clean. It is great as a simple eq, great for adding/subtracting some bass or treble, without having to keep messing with the amp. And it sounds nice just as a booster too, without the overdrive.

Loobs, why do you only use the Timmy with a low amount of gain?

I'm not sure really. I don't like my tone to get mushy so I try to limit the amount of gain I use. I pick really hard when I'm playing riffs or whatever so I like the guitar and amp to do the work rather than a pedal. I prefer the clarity and more open sound of lower gain overdrive.
