Members echodeluxe
i would have to say the bassman. that boxy mother{censored}er would bet the ac30 down. the ac30 is cool, but the bassman is so versatile. and badass.

Members Yossarian08
An AC30 with the Bright Cap removed. But stock, I'd say the Bassman.

Members RJpilot
Clips are needed. WE are talking about the bassman 4x10 combo amp right? What are we talking about. I hope that neither amp has to die because I like them both. Lets have a death-match that thins the Amplifier gene pool better like A Line6 Spyder Vs. A M/B Dual Rectifier. Let the blood flow on that one.
Members booher
The Bassman would obviously win in a deathmatch. In a tone match? Now that's a tough call.
Members mirrorball
Depends. Which AC30 are we throwing in the ring -- vintage/JMI, Korg or the newer Custom Classic?

Members fuzzface71
I've been an AC30 fan and user for 9 years, but it can't touch a Tweed Bassman. Most famous amps were modeled after the bassman.
Members goaway
An AC30 with the Bright Cap removed. But stock, I'd say the Bassman. +1 i really didnt like my AC30 too much before i took that thing out. now i love it!
Members Vince
AC30, every single day of the week. A Telecaster into a cranked normal channel is something that every guitarist should experience at least once (a day) in their life!
Members Woody777
I can't decide between the two. I play the AC30 live... but I use a Bassman RI at the rehearsal space. Both amps sound amazing.
Members booher
Depends. Which AC30 are we throwing in the ring -- vintage/JMI, Korg or the newer Custom Classic? i guess that depends on which bassman we're talking about then, too.

Members mrweems
ok so i've thought about this. ac30 if i have a tele. and a timmy. bassman with something with humbuckers. i really want to get a 4x12 for the bassman. that would be awesome. they are both very chimey. I think the bassman is probably more versatile. for instance i hate the ac30 with my sheraton.and you have to put the amp on the treble switch with my rickenbacker for it to sound good. just to dark and muddy. If i had to choose one. well thats hard. Ac30 for portability.
Members MacBradley
Both. They're too different to compare really. Only thing in common is they are both great clean amps that sound great cranked loud enough for dirt, but they are different flavors of good. It's like asking if vanilla or chocolate ice cream is better, there is no right answer, its all just opinion.
