Custom Pickguards

So I got in touch with this company, auroraproject.co.uk, and I just asked if one of the templates which looked like my Tele Custom was right, and that it wasn't for the original Tele Customs which wouldn't fit on my reissue.

I got an email back saying that yep it's for a reissue, but they can't "guarantee that it will be the same as yours". How much do pickguards actually vary? I wouldn't think at all.

They recommend sending my pickguard so they can make an exact copy but I'd rather just do without the trouble of sending it, so what's the risk that it wouldn't fit.
