he wants $400 for it, but seems like hed take a lower offer.

20 watts, tube, weber 12f125, reverb and trem.

seems like a good deal, but have never heard of these amp.

*photo not of actual amp in ad, that pic is small*

    It *looks* cool.

Aside from that I have no idea - The old ampegs are supposed to be great though the new ones not so much. Right?

If it's built/sounds anything like my V4, it'd be solid silver/blue is indeed early 70s too.

It looks like a tiny version of my VT-22. As long as it is from the late 60s or early 70s and it works, you can't go wrong. Those Ampegs are all ****************ing tanks and you will die long before it does.

              Those are Sweet!
A really unique sound, great for the studio.
Any 7591 tube amp is a great find.
              Wish I had one.
              Think of a cross between a 6l6 and EL84

I think 4 bills is a pretty average price for those, not great or terrible.

                Google says:

From Gregg Hopkins' book, Ampeg, The Story Behind The Sound:

                (re: 1970)
"Though Ampeg was establishing itself as a maker of amps for
rock as well as jazz, it gave the electric accordionist one last
amp with the new all-tube AC-12. This was a 1x12 single-
channel 20 watt amp with reverb and tremolo. It was powered
                by a pair of 7591As and had a 12AXY, 6U10, and 12DW7 in
the preamp section. The amp flopped and was discontinued by
the end of 1970. Though the accordion amp market had all but
disappeared, Ampeg still offered the stereo string bass pickup
                and five-mic accordion pickup.

Ampeg surely knew that an accordion amp in 1970 would like-
ly be a white elephant, so it covered its bets by recycling the
AC-12 circuit to derive the GU-12, which was identical except
that it did not have a negative-feedback loop-- giving it greater
harmonic distortion. The GU-12 was marketed as a guitar
amplifier and essentially took the place of Ampeg's other sin-
gle channel 1x12 amp, the Rocket II. "

lolz echo. You browse Clist like I do - all the time.

I saw that amp too. I wouldn't shell out $400 for it though. Maybe 3

The new Ampegs are great amps as well; just not similar to the old models. Apples / Oranges.

$400 seems a bit steep for that.
                          Good deals: I've had 'em.
