  • using a drum machine with effects pedals

I'm using an Alesis sr-18 for a solo project. It was sounding pretty lame until I added a boss OD-3. Now it's got that gritty industrial sound on the kick, but I'm not satisfied with the way the snare cuts through the mix.

I'm thinking of getting a multi-effects pedal so I can add some reverb, delay, and switch between different distortions. I figure a bass pedal is best to keep the low end.
    Right now my choices are

    bass pod (used) - $119
    Korg Toneworks AX1B (used) - $39
    Zoom B2 - $99
    Digitech BP-50 - $79

It's going on a pedal board thats pretty packed so I'm looking for a small unit. Any suggestions?

honestly even those dirtcheap zoom 707 things are fine for drummangling.
            Good times rolled with:

WAWBanks, RadioSilence, theboywho, ponch, fruvai, joeyowen, jah_vengeance, sparkfriction, HeartfeltDawn, robw, tvrf21...

I gave stuff to Melx for free and nothing bad happened

Dont know how set you are on using the sr16 but this is the kind of thing you can do a lot easier in software.

probably sound pretty glitchy, if you already have one, but if you're buying especially, I'd go for a cheap guitar multieffect for things like autowah filters, etc.

I reckon I might try some Fuzz Factory on my MFB-522 Drumcomputer. I sometimes use an Electro Harmonix 16 Second Digital Delay.
