So I finally found one of these after somewhat inactively searching for one for about ten years. I got it for a steal too.

It sounds far better than I had imagined. The wah has a powerful sweep to it, and the volume pedal feels great for swells.

It's also hardwired and you can turn on the wah and volume on at the same time.

Not too good for bass though as one might expect it to be.

Congrats! Hey does the volume part go all the way off and then to unity gain? I find with a lot of these combo wah/volumes the volume pedal part does not go all the way off. If you move the action so that it goes all the way off when you go the other way the max volume is lower than unity gain.

Yeah it goes all the way off. And the sweep is very even, which I like. I'm not sure how I feel about the bypass yet though.

Possibly the best wan ever- I know what you mean about the bypass- but even with that, it is still the best ... Enjoy!

the dod sucks

Which is why I said it was worth trying. It has 2 trim pots that were meant to be adjusted and there are lots of people who sound great with it.

Not sure if there are some good ones/ bad ones out there. But when I got mine, I had to open it, adjust the sensor and the trim pots and it was awesome. And the bypass, I can deal with.

I like it's original design and vocal quality which is why I recommend it.

Killer deal at 50 or 60 bucks. I wonder how Wilson feels about them?

The problem is, there really isn't much out there in the way of a small wah/volume that pleases everyone.

The Mr. Crybaby was meh and so are the Morleys.. unless you have a Tel-ray.

But yeah, this Mu-tron is some silkysmoothwonkawonka.

And some gut shots.

As you can see, this wah has no pot.

The sweeper seems to work similar to the way a whammy or an FX-17 works (optical) but 1000x times more solid.

I wonder if this wah is adjustable in any way? If not, thats fine with me.

There is one trimpot there. Not sure what it does.

looks inductorless too?

FWIW, I don't think the FX17 is optical, but morleys are.

sounds pretty cool

Yeah you're right. I just found out that the FX17 uses a variable capacitor.

And apparently the Mu-tron uses an active inductor of some type.

Thanks buuudee
