  • BB preamp v Wampler Ecstasy v Fatboost3 and why?

    As the title suggests.
I'm still yet to buy but have broken it down to these three.
Going for a light od /boost tone into the front of my clean/ light od channel on my Laney VH100R.
Looking for creamy boosted tones for bluesy solos.

I'd vote if but I've only ever tried the BB Preamp. If you already like the sound of your amp the BB is a great pedal. Really dynamically responsive. I prefer its gain just under halfway rather than full-on. That will give you the bluesy tones you crave.

I would have to go with the bb. It sounds good at bedroom levels but at live volume the compression is perfect. I tried the fb3 and it just didn't hold up to the bb for me. Running an HLE strat through a SF super reverb. I thought the FB3 was a little too grainy for my rig. I just sold serial # 977
