Members bieke Posted July 5, 2012 Members Share Posted July 5, 2012 Klira were entry level Sperrholz (laminated wood) guitarsstarted in 1887 and stayed a family owned business until WWII, afterwards Klira rebuild a new factory together with Hofner, Klira stopped in 1984, but did try to make high quality guitars in the end (because budget guitar competition from the far east was unstoppable) that guitar looks like a refinmost triumphators had vinyl or perloid covered bodiessimilar models were the Brasilia and Ohio Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Members bieke Posted July 6, 2012 Members Share Posted July 6, 2012 yeah, there's always a bunch of Kliras on eBay Germanythey had some cool designs of their own and also made some funny looking copies of Teles, JMthe sound is that typical german 60s beat sounddry, almost no sustain, sounds really good with fuzz thoughthe last Kliras were sort of custom shop ones, and their last production model was a high quality semiacoustic tenor guitar Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
