  • Orange Squeezer Compressor

A clone of a great classic compressor and it sounds great when stacked with fuzz/distortion pedals.

I am a BIG fan of the Orange Squeezer. Here's my OLC Sunkist Squeeze, which Mark at OLC did with some input from me in terms of what I wanted (opamp, external bias and volume controls & some graphics design input). I love that thing. It's a killer compressor!

I have #23 Analogman Orange Squeezer. Great pedal. I really like it alot. I wish it had a 9V jack though. I am powering it with my PP2 using a battery clip power adapter. It works great, but I wonder if it isn't a little noisier because of that. Anyhow the pedal is noisier than my Keeley 2 knob compressor.
<div class="signaturecontainer">WARNING: TC Electronics Pedals Are NOT REPAIRABLE. Instead of fixing my switch they wanted to charge me $72 plus shipping on a $99 pedal to replace all electronics, when only the switch was defective. This is their blanket repair policy on ALL repairs. They have no replacement switches. The switch is on the board so substituting a different switch can't work. Do not buy pedals from companies that cannot repair their own switches.</div>

Yea, I heard great things about Analogman OS. I wonder if it uses tantalum caps as those caps help reduce noise.

I don't know but I should try it with a battery and see if it gets quieter. Mike said if I wanted a jack put in there are some other electrical components needed or it would be noisy. I wonder if using the PP2 onto the battery clip makes it noisy?

I dunno if it does or not, but trying it with a battery is fairly simple and easy to do, so why not give it a try and see what you think? I'd love to hear what your findings are.

Thank you. I really do love it. I use it more often than not, especially when using single coil pickups. It gives them a nice fattening along with the added sustain and attack.

Seriously my personal favorite among compressor circuits.

I'd have to say that if I would have to sell all of my pedals and keep just one, it would definitely be this one in particular.
