We had to turn a 50-60 min regular set into 2x 1hour sets once.... we basically did a few extra covers (that we'd dropped previously) a couple of 'extended mixes' added a couple of longer instrumentals ... we still failed and they only paid us half what we were supposed to get. icon_lol.gif

the longer the audience waits, the drunker they get, the anticipation builds and it usually works in favour of the band.

I saw Neuraxis open for Martyr a couple years ago and they were well over an hour late, they hit a deer on their way to Vancouver (Canadian touring eh) and {censored}ed up their van. still an amazing show, nobody cared that it was delayed.

this is the sort of thing i was talking about.

oh, {censored}, that sucks. ours isnt QUITE as bad, 1 hour set turning into two 40 minute sets. going to try to throw another cover in, for a total of two, all others original. shouldnt be an issue, just wanted to see how yall have handled it.

Occasionally on tour in Australia..

(unwanted gigs in towns halfway between other towns) we have had to do sucky gigs in exchange for an overnight room/little pay.. which instead of our normal 40 minute set.. would be two split 1 hour sets...

We just added a handful of obscure pop covers.. let out bass player sing/play solo for a few songs of his own side project stuff.. a little extra banter/get to know your audience and just finish 5 mins early haha and start 5 mins late(what are they gonna do) which seem just about enough to get by... We have twice as many origianals of old songs that noone is ever keen to dust off which would have solved things..
