Members Jan Deal
Hi all, thought you guys might be in a good place to offer advice to this situation. I play in an instrumental band with three guitarists (check my sig ), and since we use altered tunings and LOTS of effects, there can be dead time between songs. Now, we have tried to fill it with "banter", plugs for other shows we are playing, downloads etc... but it's always not quite enough. Any advice? We have toyed with the idea of storing some music/noises onto a looper pedal and playing that in between, how do people think that would go down? Members Kimme
hit the low e-string, loop it.
Members Lanefair
I would simplify what you do. Maybe audiences like waiting around and being able to talk for a bit. I just start the next song on my own and keep going until the band start up.
Members renula
my bandmate loops stuff, mostly from the end of the prior song. And if we have different tunings for songs, we bring more guitars.
Members ambient
Bring a guitar for each tuning, or don't play those songs.

Members Trick Fall
I usually structure my band's set so that there are minimal stops between songs. We have a few tunes that start with drums which helps a lot. In the situation you are describing I would probably try to have some intros so that one guitarist could be doing an intro thing while another is switching out instruments. Members orangesix
I hate when bands talk or "plug" {censored} between songs. Very few people can pull of banter.

Members korgi
i usually just loop something quick and weird.....also the drummer just sometimes plays a beat, then when ready, straight into the next song.
Members bananashotgun
unless it was a major show then give the audience a few minutes to talk/relax. they're there to have a good time and not be bombarded constantly by a wall of noise. Members tylerdubb2
+1 for looping stuff. dl4 it. loop something quick and weird and slow it to half time and reverse it.
Members vidret
yeah use a delay/looper and loop the end of the song, reverse/slow it down or something. capistan, hardwire dl8, smmh, dl4, headrush e2(?). that way you won't have a pedal that's dedicated to looping. Members evets618
We don't do much between tunes because the audience is making too much noise with this weird hand-clapping thing. What's up with that?
Members RadioSilence
Do all the songs in the same tuning in blocks together. have a guitar in each tuning. Have two guitars and hire a dude to be tuning your guitars offstage ready for the next song. Helps if he owns a van, too. Loop {censored}.
