I've read a lot on the offset forums too. Still unsure.
I have Rose Picassos in it now. They're sweet, but I'd like to get more of a classic tone out of it.

Yeah, those a certainly in my price range. Do they compare?

I = darker
II = brighter
??

I know pots can change those characteristics too.


Those eBay pickup builders are in the same range. Pickupwiz, and the others.

Novaks are heralded as the best, but a little more $$.

I've read a lot on the offset forums too. Still unsure.
I have Rose Picassos in it now. They're sweet, but I'd like to get more of a classic tone out of it.

Yeah, those a certainly in my price range. Do they compare?

I = darker
II = brighter
??

I know pots can change those characteristics too.


Those eBay pickup builders are in the same range. Pickupwiz, and the others.

Novaks are heralded as the best, but a little more $$.

You might get lucky on Offset Guitars and pick up a secondhand set for cheap. I've got some Novaks for under

Do you know what year your Jazzmaster is, and what type of wood it's made out of?

I ask because some MIJ / CIJ guitars are basswood, and on some of those, a pickup swap won't give you the "classic sound" you're after. At least IMO.

Do you know what year your Jazzmaster is, and what type of wood it's made out of?
