                  Try Civil Twilight. The first album is a great band recording, the new one is taking some time to grow on me but still, worth a listen.



                  Although you said not so much hard rock, the latest Deftones album is a masterpiece. Far and away their most melodic// musical/ filled with good songs and beauty.

                              Dan Mangan is the best thing about Canada ever though.
